Hearts, Minds and Souls.

Our mission is to introduce people of all ages to salvation through Jesus Christ and disciple believers in spiritual growth. Our cause is to win the hearts and minds of young people through the power of God's Word and to send them into the world as ambassadors for Christ.

To God be the Glory.

President

Nicky and I have been privileged to be involved with Christian camping for over thirty years. Since Camp Victory started in 1986, we have repeatedly witnessed the transforming power of the Gospel in the lives of hundreds of young people through this Christian camping ministry. We believe that the Lord uses exposure to the wonders of His creation in a camp setting to speak to them individually. Without technology and the distractions of everyday live, campers are able to open their hearts and minds to hear His voice and to experience Him in ways that will impact them for eternity.

Having met in leased facilities for many years, we’re thrilled that God has blessed us with a beautiful piece of property in northern Moore County, NC. Bordered on three sides by water and with beautiful 100' bluffs, this property will provide us with a unique ministry home. Having seen so many lives impacted in just one week of camp per year, we're excited to think of what God will accomplish with a full summer of camps.

Our call is to continue to develop this facility to allow even more lives to be impacted by Christ. This website will provide you with our vision for this facility. Will you join hands with us and our many supporters in this great endeavor? We trust that you will prayerfully consider how the Lord will have you partner with us.

In Christ,

Milestones.

We've reached several key milestones in our vision to build Moore's Keep Christian Camp. In 1986, God prompted the pastor of a small church to encourage his congregation to conduct its own camp for its young people in a rented facility. Two of the volunteers at that first Camp Victory, Tom and Nicky Lewis, experienced firsthand how God could use the fun, safe, and serene setting of a camp to speak His truth into the hearts of those young people. Tom and Nicky had such a desire to be a part of something so special that they went back for the next 16 years. In 2002, both Tom and Nicky felt God's calling to establish a permanent home for the Camp Victory and founded Benchmark Ministries to do so.

The founders’ first experience with Christian camps was in 1986 when Tom and Nicky Lewis accompanied their children and volunteered to work at the first Camp Victory.
Both worked as counselors for the first few years in the one week camp and in later years started to get involved in activities, skits, and other areas of the Christian camping ministry. Tom took over as Camp Director in 1999 and at the same time Nicky assumed responsibilities in the kitchen feeding campers and volunteers.
Tom and Nicky answered the call of God to surrender to full time Christian service by developing and operating a Christian camp.
God provided Benchmark Ministries with property uniquely surrounded on three sides by water and with 100 foot bluffs perfectly suited for the fulfillment of the vision.
The process of building roads, installing utilities, construction of entrance gate and extensive research into options of sewer system began.
The main entrance into the property was permanently established and state utility permits issued for development of onsite sewer system.
Camp Victory conducts the first two weeks of camp at it’s new permanent home, Moore’s Keep. The new home provided opportunity to conduct multiple weeks of camp during the summer.
With continued growth, the 2016 camping season expanded to two weeks of teen camp and two weeks of junior camp.

A 83,000 gallon, 40’ x 80’ swimming pool and associated bathhouse was completed.

Building Moore’s Keep Christian Camp.

For the past several years our focus has been to put in place the infrastructure necessary to support camper housing and camp activities. Clearing for and building of roads, construction of the entrance to the camp, securing and putting in place permanent staff housing, and the construction of a lumber shed, maintenance building and equipment shed are some of the project that have been undertaken. The camp sewer system is now in place and functional. A swimming pool has been constructed which also supplies water for future required fire protection systems.

Where We’re Headed

We are now poised to begin what we envisioned so many years ago. The Village, to be located in the Castle Complex, will be our first permanent facility to house campers and will include dining and worship areas. Now that the logging and clearing of the castle complex is complete, the next step in the development process is to remove the stumps and put the 11 acre site to grade. The recently completed pool is providing water recreation activities as well as the large volume of clean water needed for the fire protection system in The Village. The construction of The Village will allow us to expand our present 4 week program to a full 10 weeks of Christian camps with a capacity of 120 campers per week along with other retreat and conference opportunities.

God has blessed us with a visionary Board of Directors, along with a number of architects, engineers, builders and volunteers who have devoted countless hours to this great endeavor.

The need for a Christian camp to introduce juniors and teens to Christ has never been greater. 80% of those that accept Christ as their Savior do so by age 18. 60% of those make that decision at Christian camps.
